A proto-globalization. Organic abstraction and illusion of geometry reflected in the screens of a multiple TV mirror image, forming the Earth globe.
Tellus Digitalis
Peter Svedberg
1989
Peter Svedberg’s “Tellus Digitalis” (1989) is a conceptual TV sculpture which innovatively uses a convex television tube and an intricate arrangement of mirrors to construct a specific projective environment which affords new opportunities of generating images and visual impressions. A peculiar expression of communicational globalisation, it represents thinking in images and three-dimensional shapes, being, as such, one of the most creative elaborations on and reworkings of Nam June Paik’s ideas.
